POWERSHELL-AzureManagementToolsSnapIn Not installed

when i execute the below command in powershell , its giving me an error saying.

Add-PSSnapin AzureManagementToolsSnapIn

Add-PSSnapin : The Windows PowerShell snap-in ‘AzureManagementToolsSnapIn’ is not installed on this machine. At line:1 char:13 + Add-PSSnapin <<<<  AzureManagementToolsSnapIn     + CategoryInfo          : InvalidArgument: (AzureManagementToolsSnapIn:String) [Add-PSSnapin], PSArgumentException     + FullyQualifiedErrorId : AddPSSnapInRead,Microsoft.PowerShell.Commands.AddPSSnapinCommand

Solution :

First Download download Windows Azure PowerShell Cmdlets latest version http://wappowershell.codeplex.com/releases/view/84058 and install the same on your machine.

Then follow the document below

http://wappowershell.codeplex.com/documentation

Install both powershell Snap-in and Powershell Module one after the other.

  1. After the installation,Open the Windows PowerShell for Windows Azure Link from the Start Menu
  2. Run Import-Module WAPPSCmdlets
  3. This should run without any errors.

Now to add the Snap-in,run the command below under Windows Powershell ISE

if ((Get-PSSnapin | where {$_.Name -match “WAPPSCmdlets”}) -eq $Null)

{Add-PSSnapIn WAPPSCmdlets}
